Publicity & Promotion
Independent Music, Publicity & Promotion
A decade working across independent music, combining venue publicity, music journalism, record-label promotion, artist representation and live event booking across the UK and Europe.
- Challenge
- Independent artists, labels, venues and promoters needed to reach audiences and media without the resources or infrastructure available to major music organisations.
- Response
- Worked across publicity, promotion and live music: representing European independent labels including Glitterhouse Records and Racing Junior in the UK, booking artists for festivals and venues, and developing relationships with journalists, promoters and the wider music industry. Alongside this work, I wrote a weekly London live-music preview for BBC London Online during 2000–01 and worked across publicity, programming and music promotion for independent venues in London.
- Outcome
- Helped independent artists, labels and venues reach wider audiences, secure media attention and build stronger connections across the live and recorded music sectors. The work also developed a long-term international network spanning artists, record labels, festivals, venues, media and promoters — experience that continues to inform my approach to communications and audience development.
Website Content & SEO
Bristol Inkjet
Restructuring and rewriting website content for a specialist large-format printer supplier, making complex technical products and services easier to understand while improving search visibility and customer journeys.
- Challenge
- Bristol Inkjet supplies, services and repairs HP DesignJet large-format printers and plotters. Its website needed to explain specialist technical products and services clearly while helping potential customers quickly find the information most relevant to them.
- Response
- Restructured key website pages, rewrote service and product content and developed clearer messaging around customer needs. I used SEO-focused copy, headings and page structure to improve search relevance while keeping technical information accessible and useful.
- Outcome
- Created a clearer, more useful website that better communicates Bristol Inkjet’s specialist expertise, makes products and services easier to discover and provides stronger foundations for organic search visibility and customer enquiries.
Events & Promotion
Live Music Events & Promotion
Promoting and programming live music across London and the UK, working with festivals, venues, artists and promoters to build audiences and generate media attention.
- Challenge
- Live music projects needed to attract the right audiences, secure visibility and coordinate artists, venues, promoters and publicity within limited budgets and tight timescales.
- Response
- Handled event promotion, artist booking, publicity and audience development for festivals, independent venues and promoters, including jazz concerts programmed within the London Jazz Festival and other live music projects across London and the UK.
- Outcome
- Helped live events reach wider audiences and gain media attention while building long-term relationships with artists, venues, festivals, promoters and journalists — experience that continues to inform my approach to event communications, promotion and audience development.
